I have been considering the future of this web site for some time. There are several problems.
MyHeritage have changed the subscription plans and instead of up to 1000 ancestors in a tree, which the current tree just fits in, it is now only 500. This means I will have to pay to continue using the site though it does mean I can add more people to the online tree.
The way the software works many names are not displayed correctly. There are two main problems here. In the usual genealogical method people are listed by their birth or baptism name, other names from, for example, name changing (in countries where this is possible) and the practice of women taking their husbands name on marriage (a peculiariarity of the English and their colonies) do not display correctly. The other problem, which does not apply to English based family lines, is the incorrect parsing of names that use von, van, der, de etc. These name parts either get lost altogether or I can enter them incorre...

The update that I promised in May has now actually arrived, I still have more new stuff to add, some thanks to Pam the rest due to my hard work .
At the moment there is a lot of research going into Charles Fisher Grist of Cardiff. He married Mary England and claimed the middle name Fisher for him and his father both of them from Bradford on Avon. So far only the direct descendants of Mary Fisher have used Fisher as a middle name but it seems this family did as well, though they are not recorded at birth. Mmm Interesting.
A copy of Mary Fishers Will, ot that of her husband would be most useful but I do not think there are any copies.

I have quite a few updates this month, several with thanks to Sue, and I will be updating the files here this week, unless something else gets in the way
The idea idea I had about making seperate trees for each branch, which would be easier for some people to edit as they would only see relevant connection may not happen, I found out the free site is limited to 1000 people and a new tree of just the Grist line for example would mean that the 140 odd Grists would get counted twice as they would also be in the main tree. I am thinking about alternatives.
In the meantime if you find any errors or want to add any more people just let me know.

The main tree reflects the state of my data on April 1. The plan is to create an editable tree for each family line so visitors can update the sub trees and I can then incorporate the data in the main tree after checking
