Looking for information/photographs/stories of John Henry Hudson born in England. He was in the Royal Navy. He joined at age 16 (he lied about his age to join)
John Henry was the son of John Henry Hudson and Elsa Margaret Bowman(not sure on spelling of surname). He died 01 June 1916 at the age of 18 at sea aboard the HMS Tipperary (which served with the 4th Destroyer Flotilla of the Grand Fleet and was sunk in the first night engagement by the German dreadnought SMS Westfalen. Of the 197 aboard, 12 survived) during the Battle of Jutland in WWI. He was a telegraphist aboard the HMS Tipperary. His body was not recovered. I have found him on the Common Wealth War Graves website and on several casualty lists. He was the brother of Douglas Jack Hudson (KIA WWII HMS Liverpool)
Anyone who has any information, stories, and/or photographs to share, we would greatly appreciate it. Please email me at helenmcknight79@hotmail.com
