any info on the cary's of somersetshire.i know the ones who came to america in 1634 aboard the "seven seas ". i am interested in the ones who did not venture into the colonies of n. america. my understanding is that they were very close to nobility and parliment.i have been led to believe that there is a monument of a cary outside of parliment.i would be of that blood line. i have pedigree charts going back to the 5th century.i would like to find some cousins that may be alive !!ha,ha. i have done that on my mothers side in scotland . now i would to do that on my dad's side in england.
Cooke is My Grandfathers name from N.Ireland originally from Larne but believed origin from Cookstown Co Tyrone. Due to the recent 1911 Census we now believe that a document we hold makes reference that a member of our family visted an auntie Murial in Bath, Somerset, England in 1941. The census shows what we believe is that Auntie, however we are unable to establish what the link may be to the cookes in N.Ireland.
If you have any of the people listed below in your own family tree or believe you know of a connection then please get in touch.
Father: George A. Cooke born 1846
Mother: Pamela Cooke, born 1850
Siblings: Pamela A. Cooke born 1872, George A. Cooke born 1874, Hubert Horace Cooke born 1876, Beatrice A. Cooke born 1878, Alice M. Cooke born 1880
From above Hubert Horace Cooke married Charlotte Marie Cooke born 1877
Siblings from this Marraige
Horace Fuller Cooke born 1902, Murial Gwendoline Milton Cooke born 1903, Marjorie Vena Cooke born 1909.
The above person in bold is we believe the Aunty Murial that a member of our family visited.
Records show that all these generations all lived within the same area of bath called Walcot we believe that Aunty Murial may have also stayed in the same area.
Hello. I am trying to find information on my Grandfather Leo Harold. I do not have any because he divorced my grandmother and was not heard of again. I know there are 'Harolds' in Somerset which is why I am trying this county.
